ATTEMPTED ESCAPE IN LITTLE VILLAGE NEAR BERENT, JAN. 26th 1945., WHILE ON LINE OF MARCH FROM MARIENBURG. BECAUSE OF RUSSIAN ARTACK. HID IN HOUSE WITH POLISH INHABITANTS BUT GERMAN SOLDERS RETURNED. I WAS RECAPTURED SAME DAY.
SUFFERED FROM SEVERE FROST-BITE RIGHT EAR.
