Steven Spielberg eat your heart out!! Great stuff Lofty!
Your efforts make me want to try and put my home movie of our first trip to Arnhem in 2006 on YouTube but the "edited" version is 2hrs long so I'm not sure how to go about it

Keep up the good work mate :)........

Another superb piece of footage Lofty and I agree, Sir John was indeed a very nice man. I met him in Shaftesbury Avenue in 1990 and he signed the hard Hat I was wearing.

Many thanks for the post, you looked great in the suit and Sir John and Lady Mills not only enjoyed the photo shoot but the vehicle as well.

A few years ago I met ( through work) a gentleman ( who lives locally to me) now in his 80's who as a young man was a driver on an ambulance in North Africa.
It was he who mentioned his army connection and when I asked him where he was posted he said North Africa , I named several of the well known coastal towns and his eyes moistened as he told me "that not many people can name those places and I knew them all so well" and after a slight pause he added " it seems so few people care any more".

On behalf of this gentleman , thank you for keeping a part of his past alive.

What a wonderful thread, I have just read it for the first time from page 1 and it has been a true emotional rollercoaster, thank you so much Lofty for the effort both in the thread and with the K2.
You haven't said why you had to move the Ambulance on? I was recently distraught having to sell a beloved motorbike so I cannot imagine how you have felt.

Hi all, especially Miguel, have now a link to the parade proper, the quality is a bit suspect, but it was probably a cheap tape I used, and then its been minced mashed, and up and downloaded, copied, edited, spent a night on a satellite, done 20 million miles unwrapped, and then put on here, I am surprised I still have it at all, best I can do enjoy. Includes are rare bit of film near the end.

True to his word, as if it could be otherwise :)

I can do lip reading. At 11:25 Prince Phillip is saying: "There's Loft's K2 in the centre"

1995 LIBERATION TOUR IN THE PROVINCE OF FRIESLAND
    FRIESLAND 50 JAAR VRIE
    Hi all,
Have spent a great deal of time editing 2 hours of video, and have now arrived at 15 minutes downloaded onto you tube, this is part one, sorry but ther is more still to work on (providing someone looks at this bit) For those that that understand the working of vehicles, the broken down vehicle touched on in the clip, arrived at the airbase Saturday night, transfer box in the back, the fitters at the factory, cut the rear prop sleeved and welded it longer to go from rear diff to gearbox, and sent him on his way, no vibration perfect job and he was back in the tour, well done them.
In part two we will be out of the sand (and no more bad language) and move on to the Tour itself, that also had its moments, YouTube - ‪1995 LIBERATION TOUR FRIESLAND NL PART 0NE‬‏
