In my day if you forgot your PE kit after you had the cane you still did it in pants and vest

Lord of the Rings gives a good idea of what NZ looks like out of the cities ;)

Worth asking what will happen them post production ?
Hopefully they will all get good homes, those which don't have to be destroyed in the making of the movie.

It's a Cab 13 CMP so the Canadians have at least got a truck into the film ! I'm not sure that there were many around Bomber Command bases in 1943 though.

I can't believe that the inscrutable Chinese are being allowed to build counterfeit Lancs. Is nothing sacred ? If they copy modern tat, it gets seized and crushed by customs. I hope that Avros are being paid proper royalties for the use of the design (and Barnes-Wallis's estate for the bomb :))

Thank God for that. There are so many farms here with an old, rusting CMP tucked away behind the barn that they could have had a convoy.
I've thought since that if he can stay sober long enough, Kiefer Sutherland is the right Canadian actor for the job. On second thought, sobriety has never been highly valued here anyway.

I see in the remake of the dambuster's film one of the problems the makers have come across is the name of Guy Gibsons black labrador "Nigger" this being a "politicaly uncorect" word in our day & age

Personaly i would like to see the word stay, in my mind changing the name is changing history as it was made, but i'm intrested to hear the thoughts of others, what do you think ?

Just thought I'd add my 10cents worth. The Dambusters is in production, with Weta Workshops doing the physical effects, miniatures and including the building of 10 full-sized Lancaster bombers....

If this picture follows the more recent formulas (Pearl Harbor comes to mind), Guy Gibson will have a major love interest, apart from the dog, and that will consume 60% of the so called plot. As aresult, most of us will have slashed our wrists or have run screaming from the theatre by the time they get around to bombing the dams!

    Ok, I've become cynical!

I wonder if they will keep in the wholy fictitious "eurika" moment with Guy Gibson in the theatre and seeing the two spot lights on the dancer...

Jackson could make a fantastic remake, being the aviation nut that he is I hope he will.

A lot of extremely experienced and decorated aircrew lost their lives on the operations against the Dams.

I just hope that the film gives due credit to their brave deeds.

    Regards

I presume they've been suitably tested by the HSE and are CE-marked?

Can't you just hear the conversation on set:
"I say, are those real airscrews?"
    "No, they're props."

Living so close to the border of the great US of A - I once queried the fact that they actually won the ww2 singlehandely - and I was assured that there was two of them - bit like Drew's tale about the 1000 Taliban
