    Remembering John Russel Bruckmann, one of my father's comrades, who was killed near Casa Spinello, while serving with the 2nd Battalion, London Irish Rifles, on 23rd October 1944..

    ..Lt Bruckmann is buried at Santerno Valley CWGC next to Major Ronnie Boyd who was also killed that day and in the same row with Major Maurice Crehan and Cpl William Farthing, who both died that same week.... a South African, an Englishman, an Irishman and a Canadian side by side.
