I have my grandfather's War Service Record but there is not clear indication of which battles he was involved in. Should I simply assume that if his battalion was recorded as taking part, then he would have been there or is there a resource somewhere i can access. Also, can someone help with Draft Conducting, please? I don't understand why a young serving soldier would be involved in this in 1940. Thank you.
Posting a copy of his service record here will help members interpret the records for you. Particularly, the time frame that he served with the 1st Sherwood Foresters and the time frame with the Green Howards (as well as the battalion).
