Owen, Thanks for the photo's and information. It is a lot more than I knew before. I had seen the first 2 photo's on the IWM site, but not the last two. Regards, Stewart
Anyone got any pictures of Fife & Forfar Crocodiles (or other vehicles) showing the markings? Not one with markings but an interesting picture and story of one of their Churchills: The Time Capsule: 1940s - Age Concern England
Anyone got any pictures of Fife & Forfar Crocodiles (or other vehicles) showing the markings? Only this. http://www.fireandfury.com/britinfo/divmarkings.pdf
Thanks Donnie, so they carried just the 79th badge over any other specific regimental markings. Cheers, I can feel a kit coming on.
Adam, Don't forget they never joined 79th Armd Div until 5th Sept 44. Up until then they were Army Troops. See note I left off, or go to that link I posted.
If you look in the post that contained a story of the 1FFY then it says that the A squadron 1FFY tanks painted a RED triangle. so the pic i posted is "A" Squadron. Donnie
and another in front of a Churchill, again Grandad is on the right. Nick, that's one of the best ww2 British Tank pictures I've seen. Tough looking crew! Cheers, Adam.
Another similar shot to previous, dont know any names but the boss is with this crew this time. fascinating to find out who they are
Lovely photos Nick. That last one would be early War as the Corporal is wearing Service Dress and not BattleDress.
