Does anyone know what this portable strongbox/safe might have been used for? It is broad arrow marked, made by Cox? and dated 1942. It has holes in the base as if it could be bolted to a floor or on/in a vehicle. It has handles at both ends but is only just liftable by one person, empty. Thanks, Tom.

Our box too had a 40`s date on it, we used it to hold our secure radio garbage. That of course wasnt the original use Im sure. It was bolted to the floor of an Saracen armoured command vehicle.
