Hi Everyone, I am researching a soldier - David Hutton:-
    Lieutenant
    HUTTON, DAVID
    Service Number 243456
    Died 21/09/1943
    Aged 24
83 Field Regt. attd. 50 Bty., 24 Field Regt. Royal Artillery
    Buried at SALERNO WAR CEMETERY

    - and want to tell the story of his family as well, but on the 1939 Register, at the side of his father's name was (“Calyx” Coaster Dis. 29th September 1939 PT4004), so I am wondering what sort of vessel this was and also I think his father had been in the Merchant Navy if this belongs to him:-

Thank you so much CL1, at least I know that the comment was about a ship and subsequent research shows that David John Hutton was a Sailor, so this fits. Thank you again, Mavis
