    Hi Michael,
Thank you for the interesting information. It has taken me a bit further. Unfortunately my Dad passed away in New Zealand and I live in the Netherlands so I don't know if he had any service documents. My brother may be able to help.
I will certainly pass along anything of interest that I come across.

    Hi EY.

You have listed a Gunner Williams. This may or may not be my grandfather, Gnr William John Henry Williams. Service number 5441998. Kentigern House have confirmed for me that he was transferred from the Wiltshire Regt in Dec 1942 into the 191st. His records show him being in NW France 6th June 44 to 1st Aug 44. I assume he embarked from England on the 6th. He was wounded, hence shipped back to UK beginning of June. Unfortunately I don't know what Battery he was in. Would be nice to find out.
    Best,

    Thank you very much Simon.

Based on what you have shared your grandfather is a different man so I have added him to my list - thank you! Alas I cannot find a Troop or Battery for him yet.

The Williams I already had was a Storeman with 532 Bty who later went to the Royal Military Police.

    Regards

    Michael

    Bonjour,

    Toni
