Boxing Day 1944 San Clemente Monte Grande.
General Loewen inspected 265 Bty visiting all the guns and cookhouses and was impressed by the improvised heaters.
(They were actually designed by the Canadians of 11 CAR who shared their RHQ)
Being Canadian he also visited 9 Troop 11 CAR.
(Trained to use their tanks as artillery by Major Shepherd MC BC C Troop 67th FR).

This Wikipedia link quite amusingly shows his retirement to Mansfield in Nottinghamshire.
He retired to Canada fly fishing with his sons.
Boyne River is next to Mansfield and is located in Ontario, Canada.
