From GAD History, Verney: The 5th Brigade On the 31st [March 1945] the Grenadiers resumed the advance. GRENLO fell, thanks to a route being found by the armoured cars, but five miles short of ENSCHEDE serious opposition was encountered and by nightfall their progress was halted, having had a number of casualties of whom Captain Hon. S. D. Loch and Lieutenant T. H. Birchall were wounded.
