Can anyone help with this squadron and what their mission was on 22.2.44? I am looking into details of WO Ronald Lidgate who died on that date flying a Spitfire XI on a photo recon mission, or so we believe. He is commemorated on Runnymede.
Can't add much Paul apart from the following.... Lidgate was flying Spitfire XI PA840 he crashed 5 miles south of Beachy Head at 1025 hrs on 22 February 1944, cause unknown.
