I kept on searching and found finally members of the Marsh family. Thanks for the help till yet. From an old article in a newspaper I knew know that Edward Charles Marsh got killed in a wood by a German soldier. We would like to know were the exact place is where he got killed. In the book upstairs it is written that they where in Estorf and the other name is written wrong. The name must be Oldendorf because that is the next village to Estorf. Ohlendorf doesn't exit here in our area. If Edward died there why was he burried in Kutenholz? Oldendorf and Essel is not that close. 30 minutes driving with the car. Maybe someone of you can help us answering our questions. We are searching for the war diary of the 3rd Bn. Irish Guards in May 1945. Does anyone of you know where to find them? We only find them till April. It would be nice if someone of you could help us.

The Commonwealth War Graves records show that Guardsman Marsh and four others were intially buried at Kutenholtz. That does not mean that they died there but shows that they were buried there before being taken to Becklingen War Cemetery.
The Commission may have a record showing where his body was collected from before being taken to Kutenholtz. I would contat them to see if they can help. Their website is cwgc.org Marsh Becklingen.JPG

    Thanks, I will try that.
You are right it doesn't mean that they died there. I know this list. We know that Wilson, Randell and Chatfield died in Bevern which is about 13km far away from Kutenholz. They died in fact of a shell and 3 comrades got wounded. We assume that they took the wounded soldiers to a british field hospital that was built on a farm in Kutenholz and took the death soldiers also along and burried them in Kutenholz. We don't know if comrades from Marsh also might be wounded so that is why he was burried there too. Hopefully we can find answers to our questions. We also don't know what happened to Wray.
On your list are also Towell and Hardy. They were reburried from Sandbostel to Becklingen. In Sandbostel was a prisoner of War camp the Stalag XB which was liberated by brithish soldiers on the 29th of April 1945. The camp is now a museum and I work there as a volunteer. We would like to know if both were soldiers that liberated the camp and died infact of that.
    Many many questions.
We know for sure what happened to Wilson, Chatfield and Randell. We found it in a war diary and I have contact to members of the Wilson family. They had an old article and personal letters.
But we really would like to know where Marsh died.
    I try your advice. Thanks
