Having trouble with my printer so can't reproduce your scans but he seems to have had a varying career from joining in the mid '42 from Light Anti Aircraft to Armour - with a release number of 48 - mine was 50- also from Barnard Castle - and to Lothian and Border horse in 6th AD in Italy - to 14/20 Hussars in NWE - which is intriquing and hope you can send me a copy of these four sheets - as I can't read these miniatures - so PM me if you can
    Cheers

    etc etc

Makes more sense now as I can see where he was transferred from 2nd Lothians when they were broken up from 6th AD in Austria(CMF) and SOS'd and TOS'd to 1st Lothinas in NWE or as it was known at the time BOAR
Can't figure out what he was up to in Sicily though as 6thAD were still in North Africa at that time- probably hiding out in a Reinforcement unit - and gobbling peaches etc
    Cheers

    Alanst -
best place is to start at the day he officially joined the Army and follow through on dates - make up a time line on a spreadsheet - that will show the whole story - in time

    Cheers & Good luck

Yes there is a fair gap there which indicates he was on the waiting list X(iV) - then
posted to a REME outfit - with another spell in Hospital (Xii) - before going the Lothians
don't think you have ALL his records so get back to Glasgow- and thump the table
    Cheers

    Alan
On looking at the sheets again there is a gap of a year between him going to Sicily in July 1943 and July 1944. I am sure he would only have been in Sicily for a month and then either up into Italy or another theatre of war. It seems strange he only has the 1939/45 star. You need to find out what he did after Sicily.
The forms you have received are usually in the most comprehensive detail but for some reason there are entries for a year missing.
As Tom suggests, ring the MOD again and ask them to PULL THE FILE again-don't let them fob you off by telling you that is all there is. Make sure they look at the file again.
If you take a look at my albums some of my fathers sheets are there.
The forms you have are the B103 forms.
Quote these numbers and see if they have them:
    Army form B200d
    A.F.B. 104 part 1 S/O Strength on Transfer

Try your luck, you never know:)
    Hope this helps

Thanks Lesley have been pondering all day about the missing year, could it be that the time of landing in Sicily he got mixed up in the Salerno mutiny,Salerno Mutiny - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .he may have been one of the 1000 new recruits.

Did you receive anything else from the MOD Alan?

Don't get hung up with the Salerno Mutiny - that was reinforcements sent from Tripoli incorrectly as they should have been sent from Bone directly to Xth Corps at Salerno - nothing to do with Sicily
    Cheers

Ah I see you have another form! More confusion!
This form doesn't tie in with the information on the other form.

North Africa and Sicily 27/6/43 to 26/1/46

I notice he was awarded the Italy Star as well.

    75 LAA Regiment.

Capstan Operator-sorry I don't know what this means.

Maybe one of the vets can fill in the gaps for the period above in North Africa and Sicily and someone will come along to tell you where his unit was between those dates.

Sorry not to be of more help

Capston Operator was his employment before joining up. I have no clue on what medals he received not seen any.

It says on his last sheet that he was awarded the Italy Star and 1939/45 Medal and that they were issued to him (on what date I don't know-the sheet you have scanned seems to have some writing missing on the right-hand side)
