Whilst most 'credits' for today in WW2 will go to the bombing of Dresden, a name probably familiar to most RAF buffs W/Commander Pickard on this day in 1942 flew a high level PR mission over the northern coast of France near Le Havre photographing the Bruneval area......these phots were of great use over the next couple of weeks.......

The name 'Pickard' rings a bell. Wasn't he the pilot in 'A Target for Tonight' or some such RAF film?
