Hi, can anyone help pinpoint the whereabouts of 138 LAA Battery after they departed Gourock in March 1941? From what I have been able to find they seem to have gone first to Suez, then by July possibly Cyprus. In May 1942 to N Africa. I can only identify one war diary for May to Nov 1941 and nothing until 1943. I will be heading to Kew to copy the 1941 papers but am interested to find out what I can before I go in case there are other papers I can copy at the same time. I am trying to find out what I can about their participation in the North African campaign. Many thanks, Paul
Hi So you have all of these - http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_st=adv&_aq=138%20laa%20battery&_cr1=wo&_dss=range&_sd=1940&_ed=1946&_ro=any a couple more here - http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_st=adv&_aq=138%20light%20anti%20aircraft%20battery&_cr1=wo&_dss=range&_sd=1940&_ed=1946&_ro=any I cannot find anything with a 1943 date either. I can only suggest you search for the regiment for 1943 rather than just the battery. regards Robert
