There also seem to be a few McArthurs travelling between Glasgow and New York but it is difficult to tie them down correctly at present.

The only other info that seems to fit is this family tree, but the parents returned from USA in the 1930's which would not match up with the CWGC info - which I presume means they would still be living in NY at the time of his death

Father Daniel his wife is Catherine and the details show a son (John born 1898) which would fit:
