    It should be noted that the 1st Cdn Armoured Bde at Ortona was considered TOO LIGHT for heavy assault fighting and thus were replaced by Gerry's 25th TB for breaking the Hitler line and mine

    of 21st TB for further support of 1st Cdn Infantry Div from the top of the Liri Valley until all Canadians left Italy in Jan/Feb 45 - The Three Rivers and the rest of the 1st AB went over to

    the US 5th Army and fought with the British Xth and X111 Corps..
