    David,

Since you seem to have lots of info concerning RA Regts, do you have the following-

Movements etc of 27th Fd Regt 1939-50 and more difficult, thedesignation of a HAA (3.7ins guns) regt stationed in the Kenley/Whyteleafe area of Surrey 1943-4 and then left for France around D-Day.

Many thanks for any help you can give .

Here is what I have on the 27th Field Regiment. There is not sufficient information to identify the HAA regiment, though.

    27th Field Regiment, RA
    Station: Colchester
    Batteries: 21st (Maharajpore)/24th, 37th/47th

The regiment moved to France to join the BEF in November 1939 and became an army field regiment in May 1940. It was located at Auchy by 15 January 1940 and into action near Neerpoort on 13 May under 2nd Infantry Division. It supported 6th Brigade on 15 May and moved to Moerbeke on 17 May. On 18 May, it supported 4th and 5th Brigades at Everbecq. It moved to support 42nd Division on 19 May at Lamain in a counterattack. After withdrawing from Dunkirk at the end of May, the regiment moved to man super-heavy guns at Centerbury, on the Humber and at Lewes. It was reorganized with 21st, 24th, and 37th/47th Batteries on 29 October 1940. It served under Northern Command in the autumn of 1940.
The regiment was sent to India in May 1942 and arrived on 22 July 1942. On arrival it moved to Bangalore and came under command of 25th Indian Infantry Division. It remained with the division until 14 April 1945. It was organized as 27th Jungle Field Regiment from 9 October 1943 to 28 April 1944. The regiment moved to Attur in Madras area on 7 August 1942 and to Trichinopoly on 5 October 1942. It moved to the Arakan with the division on 29 February 1944.
The regiment transferred to 26th Indian Infantry Division on Ramree Island on 14 April 1945. It moved to Rangoon area with the division on 1 May 1945 and came directly under command of 12th Army for the rest of the war on 28 May 1945.

Thanks very much for that and the lightning reply!! It was my father's Regt. His subsequent unit on returning to UK was 94th Observation (?locating) Regt - anything on that?

Sorry, I only deal with 1939-45 not post-war.
