118 light anti aircraft laa

    hi everyone
    i have had this photograph of my fathers reg etc and beileve it is the 118 laa divison

    anyone reconise anything or any one

    118th LAA Regt. formed from the 11th Batt.The Gloucestershire Regt.in 1941 Attached to 49th Division 1941/42.
    11.4.43 Arrived in India from UK and proceeded to Bangalore under commmand of 160 L of C area.
    23.6.43 Moved to Tezpur under command of 9 AA Brig.
    13.12.43 under command of 251 L of C (sub area)
    31.8.44 Regt disbanded -troops reployed destinations unknown.

    I think my Dad started off in this regiment, will try and post a picture of him.

    I think my Dad started off in this regiment, as you looked at the attached picture he is on the left hand side. He then seems to have been transferred to the Norfolks, will have a look at his service record when I get home, that is if I can understand it :)

    It is possible that he transferred to the Norfolk Regt.in Aug.1944 when 118 LAA.Regt.
    disbanded.The only Norfolk Btn serving in India/Burma was the 2nd Btn in 4th Indian Infantry Brigade.

    Hi, just had a look at your picture, my dad was 118 L.AA. sent to India. Have studied it quite closely, sadly I can't see a face I recognise. I have nothing of my dad at this stage of his life, and would have been too much to have hoped for. Great picture 'though, you are very lucky.
