I'm researching Lieutenant Sidney Smith 113th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery remembered at the Castle Bromwich War Memorial. My understanding is that Sidney entered the Great War on 8th December 1915 and was killed that very same day. He's commemorated at Mazingarbe Community Cemetery, France.
Can anyone add anything in terms of a war diary etc?
    Kind regards
    Alan
