    Emma,

Apply for your Grandfather's service records from the MOD. It may take quite sometime, but worth waiting for and confirms when he joined and any other units he served in.

    Regards,

    Rob.

I think I've identified this unit as 102 LAA, at the Western end of London 1 Bailey bridge over the Caen Canal, 16 July, 1944. But can't find a source for I Corp Tac numbers. Anyone able to confirm this unit and add more detail? Photo on right of the LAA unit.

Hi my dad joined the Royal Artillery around this time. He never spoke about his time in the Army, probably because he lost his elder brother in the war. His brother died tragically as a POW in Thailand on the infamous Burma Railway. His story in itself is tragic. I have today found out that he was a Gunner in F Troop in the 337 Battery of the 102 LAA Regiment. His name was Edward Albert Chapman. I have found your whole article here incredible and can now fill some gaps in the story of my dads life and wondered if there is any more information on the movements of F Troop of 337 Battery. Thank you in advance and thank you for this site. It is incerdible.
