I saw this on the news today. They were saying that if it wasn't for the Falklands they would never made a 100. The big cut backs just before the war had virtually wiped out the FAA and it was only the effectiveness of the Harrier and the Pilots/Crews that saved their bacon after the war. Regards Andy
Goes without saying Tom...every major conflict since WW2 that British Forces have been involved in has had a SDR (Strategic Defence Review) afterwards. They already had one after the Iraq war though. That was when all the infantry regiments lost their cap badges and soldiers only had to give 4 weeks notice to leave instead of 52 weeks. They soon put a stop to that though when there was a sudden mass exodus ! Cheers Andy
Well it was a lovely day in London on Sunday so me and the wife took a trip down to Greenwich to see HMS Illustrious, it's not everyday you have an aircraft carrier on your doorstep.
