100 years of military history & an archaelogical experiment on my very doorstep

I'm in fear of turning into an extra for "Time Team" now...

Latest finds include an almost mint example of a .577, a Mk.I .303 cleanly "cut" by another and (thanks to my 4 year old, whose showing strong signs of developing similar skills to his "relic detector" of an older brother), several bits of Victorian clay (smoking) pipe from the area behind the butts.

I think I'm going to have to write an article on this place for a local history journal!!!
