    I recently found this tag marked :

    10 tons MARK II
    ref No 4Q/2295
    extension piece closed height 6'-0" or 6' -9"
    DRG. No MG 473
    serial No 1120
    Manufactured by "skyhi" limited

    Who know from what this is? Vehicle related?

    Yes I think Rich has it. My first thought was hydraulic jack. Rich has the trade name and link to illustrations. There are many photos of these jacks used by RAF recovery, repair and maintenance units. Some show a plane with a jack under the tail, some show one under a wing. Presumably the plate is off an extension tube.
