I just finished a model of a US 3rd Army Pontoon Carrier of the 180th Heavy Ponton Battalion as may have been seen in France in 1944. The model was scratch-built utilizing a cab and wheels from Les Freathy and Rubber Pontoon from Richard Allebone. My thanks to Les and Richard for their generosity. As usual, decals were from Pete Marshall and Dan Taylor Modelworks PE was used for the wipers and mirrors.

    Cheers,

    Neil

    Neil,
Out of curiosity, how many hours would you estimate for completing that model?

This one took me exactly one month but actual time working on the model is only 1-3 hours per day and sometimes none depending upon other commitments. There is also a lot of time researching while I'm building getting photos downloaded and printed, etc. Actual building time would likely be in the 40 hour (+/-) range but as it's a hobby and just for enjoyment, I don't really count the hours. The building part is where a lot of the time is spent but when it comes to painting and making the base, it slows down due to drying times, etc.

    Cheers,

    Neil
