Here is one I finished this week. It is a modified Airfix Matador towing a 20 Ton Multiwheeler/SMT trailer with a no longer available BK Modelcraft Huber Roller and Compressor. It is finished for the RAF #5206 Airfield Construction Squadron in the UK in 1943. The figures are a modified Airfix one and a Milicast Squaddie. Much assistance was received from Ted Angus, Mike Starmer, Les Freathy and a special thanks to Richard Allebone who provided the Roller and Compressor. The markings were from the spares box.

    Cheers,

    Neil,
I have one of those compressor models. I was looking at it earlier this week and trying to remember what it was. I am tidying up some of my own Trux Models RAF Fordson WOT1 variants. Any suggestions for a source of RAF transfers (decals).

    Nice model (as always).

    Hello Mike,

Thanks for the kind words re the model. I look forward to seeing your WOT1's if you post them as you have so many others. I confess I am really enjoying them and am lamenting that most are no longer available which is a shame.
As far as RAF transfers, I'm afraid I can't be much help as they all came from the spares box, mostly from Airfix kits but for numbers, I used bits and pieces from Mike Starmers WD number sheets. The SQN lettering came from some London bus transfers for the garage codes. Ted Angus may be able to help and as I am in fairly regular contact, I can ask him.

    Regards,

    Neil

    Thanks Neil,

Ted is the obvious man to ask. He is (was) an old (not that old) customer of mine.

I have not kept up with what is available in the way of transfers and accessories since I don't get to shows. Many of my transfer sheets are nearly 40 years old and none are less than ten years old. Waste not want not as my old grandma used to say.

Hi Lads; I am managing to keep up with your posts on my tablet, but such is my lack of cyber knowledge I cannot post messages or see images from it. I am managing to wander around the house but sitting is still a major problem hence my time sat at the PC is minimal. What I thought was going to be keyhole surgery in my groin is more like a double letter box !!!!

RAF markings : BW did the best alround sets ; a WW 2 set with the 9 inch roundals plus Command / Group letters and numbers, His post- WW2 set contained the 9 inch roundal plus the post 1970 5 inch roundal and relevant Command/group markings for the period 1946 to 1980s.
Both these sets are on the Matador Models website but not currently availible.

Kingfisher Miniatures does a number of different RAF sets. and these are avalible from his E bay shop.
    Fyll from Greece is the owner of LMDECALS he does a number of RAF sets in his 1/72 range and X- Series range; he will also make decals to order;

Neil another cracking job mate !!

MIKE, I was always a very satisfied customer ! I still have some TRUX in the stash- 66 now mate but I actually feel 86 at the moment !!
    Regards
    TED

    Ted,

Thanks very much for the information on transfers. I used to find things at shows but have not got to any recently. Away on holiday too much. Sorry to hear you are not 100% but you are only a kid still. I am 75 in a couple of months.

Keep quite about your stash. Peter Bailey of Bull Models tells me that there is much nostalgia for Trux Models. This is borne out by the popularity of my current thread (I know you peep at it most days).
