Hi folks, Here are a couple of photos of my recently completed Scammell R100 and QF 6" 26 cwt Howitzer depicting an abandoned unit of the 61s Med Regt RA - GHQ in Westoutre, Belgium 1940. Both models were build OOB with only some scale chain added to the hoist on the R100. As usual, inspiration for this model was acquired from the great pages of the 1940 Section of this Forum. Hope you like it. Cheers, Neil
Did you make that pavé block by individual block ? (Well I had to think of something different to the 'lovely model' that I usually say.)
Thanks gents for the great comments. The cobblestones are two resin cast sections from Mig Productions joined together. Here are a couple more views. Cheers, Neil
Another super model! I also belong to ATF, so see your work on there. Always nice to see the level of detail you get in 1/76. Do you think the R100 would be easy to make from the Airfix Tank transporter? Something about the wheels not being quite right I think?
Thank you Dave W, Belgian Dave and Clive for your supportive comments. Dave, I did the conversion of the Airfix TT a few years back and it was featured in Military Modelling a few years ago. I have sent you a message with the link to the article which is on line now. For some reason, I can't copy/paste a web address into this reply format. Anyway, I did re-tread the wheels on the original but not to the same standard as I did with the latest which is part of the master I did for Milicast, so it can be done using the smaller diameter wheels of the Trailer. Cheers, Neil
Hi Neil, another great model indeed, it's always a pleasure seeing what you came up with this time May I ask for a photo (or three or four) of your cupboard, or wherever you store your collection? It must be quite a fine sight!
Thanks for the compliment Miguel. I don't have any photos of my display cases as they are in an unfinished basement next to my work area. Next time I do a photo session, I will take a few and send them to you if you like. Cheers, Neil
Neil, I have to agree with Miguel regarding your modelling skills. Always nice to see your vehicles. Regards Tom
