    Hi Folks,

Here are a few photos of my recently completed subject vehicle. It depicts a combination of the 240th Bty, 51st Med Regt RA, 3 Corps based at Ellesmere, Cheshire and is based upon some IWM photos taken by a Lt. Taylor on July 7, 1941 somewhere in Western Command territory.
The tractor chassis and body is converted from the Airfix Matador and the cab is scratchbuilt. The gun is the upgraded Airfix 5.5" which comes with the Matador.

    Cheers,

    Neil

That is indeed very nice Neil...and well researched.

Sorry to see that you got a bit of a frosty reception on MLU. I posted a reply but I'm not one of the 'in-crowd' .

It seems quite evident that photographs of your work are welcome here.

Thanks, Gents and Rich...thanks for your supportive comments on MLU. Must be a Canadian thing, eh!....oops better be careful, I'm one too...(although born in Kent).
As far as the research, your posting was the inspiration and you pointed the way for information for which I'm very grateful.
    By the way..."Many Happy Returns"!!

Great work Neil, love the detail.
Just one dig, When towing the barrel sould be elevated to the hight of the Mat's canvas roof,as per WW2 Med Arty H/S
They did this so it would pass over the cab roof of anything following if stopped suddenly
    Sorry to be picky
    Best

Thanks, Rob for the nice comment and the pointer. The photo I used didn't seem to have the gun that elevated but the following vehicle did. Unfortunately, it's too late to fix this one without doing damage so I'll just have to remember this fact for the next project.
    Thanks again.

    Cheers,

    Neil

Fantastic work! You are a real craftsman.

If you have any more information on that type of FWD truck can you please post it? FWD is a sentimental favorite of mine.

    Thanks,

    Dave
