Sorted by ascending table numbers of the distributed powers, i.e.: theatre commands. These war establishments are already included in the War Office volumes (I to XVI and I/AF to III/AF).
Although no source could be found, it is evident that the volume name for the East Africa Command had been changed from "ESTCOM" to "EA" at some point in time. Other than the change from "NA" to "CM" in Volume XII, where the abbreviations were interchangeable, the war establishments got new numbers. For example, II/AF/505/1 – A General Hospital, East Africa (1,000 African beds) with Convalescent Wing (500 African Patients), E.A.A.M.C. – had been promulgated by A.C.I. of 25.07.1945 with effect from 08.06.1944 with the DP-No. ESTCOM/181/5; it was cancelled with A.C.I. of 14.04.1948 with effect from 01.07.1947 with the DP-No. EA/156/1. When both DP-Nos. are known, preference is given to the earlier ESTCOM, as the main interest concentrates on the time during the war.
