I am trying to find information / photos, if possible, for my father-in-law who was in the RAMC in the 1950s' of the British Military at El Bala(?). I believe it was on the canal. Difficult asking him question without him becoming curious as to why we are asking about it.
    Any help or info appreciated.

    Cheers

BMH El Ballah, I think, but I don't think I have any material on the place.

You might want to trawl this site:
    Canal Zoners- About Us

    Likely 1950 to '56.

This book is said to be a good assortment of stuff on the Canal Zone, but I don't have a copy.

There is a wartime list of British Military Hospitals on this in: Hospitals WW2 - Scarlet Finders It goes beyond 1945 and lists one, if not two hospitals (numbered) in Egypt.
