Hi guys and gals. Been a member on here for over a decade but I believe I had to make a new account as I lost access tk my old email. I'm Arnhem44mad (Scott).

Have been fascinated with the battle of Arnhem for as long as I can remember and have about 50 books on the subject. I collect 1/30th scale King & Country Toy Soldiers and have been working on a large rolling diorama depicting the battles of:

    Arnhem Bridge
    Arnhem Town
    Oosterbeek
    Wolfheze
    The LZ/DZs

I have been looking for inspiration from original photos but have come to understand that some people have photos which haven't seen the light of day and may have been forgotten about.

I thought I'd make this thread so that individuals can add photos to this thread which will all be Arnhem/Oosterbeek/Wolfheze/LZ-DZ related.

A little more about the diorama:

    1. I have 2 Para defending the Northern end of the bridge with some engineers present. A few personalities here.

    2. Arnhem Town - I'd like to expand on this to perhaps have a Facade representing the museum - with the Western most point being a model of St Elizabeth's Hospital which is back in German control again.

    3. Outskirts of Oosterbeek with 1 Para, some 16 Parachute Field Ambulance and some glider Pilots being rounded up as prisoners.

    4. Oosterbeek with the Hartenstein Hotel area during a Truce between the two sides with British and German wounded being evacuated by German transport.

    5. Oosterbeek sector with L/Sgt Baskeyfield Crossroads section.

After 5. The order is a bit mixed until I figure out exactly what the plans are.

    6. An area where some Recce Squadron jeeps have run into the German Blocking line.

    7. 2 South Staffordshire on the move with a jeep Towing a 6 Pounder, a jeep with trailer and men marching in column along the side of the road.

    8. An area representing No. 5 Platoon, C Company, 3 Para (Lt. Cleminson) men's ambush of General Kussin.

    9. An area with a Facade of the Church and the Airlanding Light Regiment being represented by 2x Pack Howitzers, one being pulled into position by Jeep and one in action with crew. Kate Ter Horst's house will be situated close by

    10. LZ being pushed by German Counter Attack as 4th Parachute Brigade arrives.

    11. LZ/DZ with crashed horsa glider, Urquhart's Glider and Hamilcar Glider unloading Universal Carrier.

There will be about 10-15 personality figures and over 180 figures. 2x 6 Pounders, 2x aforementioned 75MMs, at least 8 jeeps, 2 Universal Carriers, bicycles x2, wellbike, motorcycle, airborne trailers x2.

Units being or planned to be represented are:

    1st Airborne Division HQ

    1 Para
    2 Para
    3 para
    9th (Airborne) Field Company

    10 Para
    11 Para
    156 Para

    21st Independent Parachute Company
    Glider Pilots

    1st Border
    2nd South Staffordshire
    7th King's Own Scottish Borderers

    16 PFA
    181 Airlanding Field Ambulance

I did have an idea of naming all figures to veterans but some figures are dead/wounded so not 100% sure on this.

I am looking for some period pics showing Oosterbeek and Arnhem houses and streets and, if possible, a large period map showing the locations of the LZs, Church, Hartenstein Hotel, Schoonord Hotel, St Elizabeth's Hospital and Arnhem bridge?

I'd like to make a Pin board with the route from LZ/DZ to bridge and that way I can figure out where to put specific scenes so that they would represent the timelines a bit more accurately.

    Thanks guys!

    Scott
