I humbly submit Operation Market Garden | Wolverhampton Military Studies | Helion & Company ...because a. I helped organise the conference it is derived from b. I have a chapter in it. Sadly, Peter Preston-Hough is no longer with us, as he passed away suddenly three years later.
I've come to the conclusion that before picking up any book on Market Garden or any other discussion about the war in Europe in Sept 1944, Eisenhower's appraisal of the war situation provided to the Combined Chiefs of Staff and Roosevelt and Churchill at the Octagon Conference is essential reading. It provides the unadulterated context for what happened next. Freely available on the net.
