    Hi all.
As there were different time scales during WW2 to the present day. What would 15.15 hours on 13th August 1942 equate to for the present day?

    Thank you in anticipation. Peter.

The leap second was introduced in 1972 and since then 27 leap seconds have been added to UTC.

Rather complicated Owen, I thought it would more straight forward, but thank you for your reply.

    As for 13th August 1942
I make that 1 hour ahead of GMT which would be the same today.

Reading the above explanation I take it that 15.15 hours on 13th August 1942 would equate to 13.15 hours for the present day.
Am I correct in assuming this?

    Hello Peter
We are currently 1hr ahead of GMT and it goes back at the end of Oct to GMT

13.15 hrs today is 1 hour ahead of GMT which would be 12.15hrs

Based on that 13.15 hrs on 13th August 1942 would be our present day 12.15 hrs because we are already 1hr ahead of GMT

What did Allied troops in Italy and NWE use? I'm just wondering about times listed in war diaries.
