Issued by Vichy France to promote an anti-semitic, anti-British, anti-de Gaulle message. The title reads Avec ce ‘de Gaulle’ la vous ne prendrez rien, M.Mrs...With that fishing rod you won’t catch anything - punning on the French word for fishing rod, ‘la gaule’. The cartoon shows Churchill sat in a small battered rowing boat with a caricature Jewish businessman in a black hat clutching a bag of money. Churchill is holding a fishing rod with Charles de Gaulle’s head as bait and attempting to catch battleships labelled Richelieu and Dakar. A well dressed Vichy sailor is wagging his finger at them. The poster responds to failed attempts by Allied forces to recapture control of French West Africa from Vichy forces. Published the Ligue Francaise anti-britannique / The French Anti-Britain League, a collaborationist organisation funded by Nazi Germany
