On 31/5/22 at 1PM there is a free online event to explain the new exhibition, the advert states:

Bletchley Park’s Research Historian, Dr David Kenyon, and Research Officer, Dr Thomas Cheetham, will delve into Bletchley Park’s expansion and transformation into a modern intelligence agency. This virtual event will be hosted by Bletchley Park’s Exhibitions Manager Erica Munro.

In the second half of World War Two brainpower, machinery and information-management processes were brought together on a huge scale to provide an invaluable flow of vital intelligence to Allied leaders. To accommodate this increasing need for intelligence Bletchley Park’s workforce, which was 75% female, grew rapidly and numbered nearly 9,000 at its peak. Eight large industrial buildings called blocks were constructed to house this expanding workforce, with Block A, home of Naval Section, being the first.

As the site expanded continuously, managers grappled with the challenge of keeping staff fed, housed, and working at high efficiency as the demand for intelligence grew and grew. Dr Kenyon and Dr Cheetham will explore how these challenges were overcome, how the Bletchley Park intelligence factory was organised, and how the intelligence it produced contributed to winning the war.
