My uncle was a WOP in the RAF during WWII. However, his enlistment papers state that he was "Not accepted for air crew duties".
After his training in Blackpool he was assigned to 80 (Sigs) Wing. His next assignment was with NWA 333 Group/ 333 Group HQ. This was in August 1942. This Group saw action in Operation Torch. He was a T/CPL by 1942 and in the Proficiency columns of Form 543 he is graded Supr (column A) and Sat (column B).

What would have been his duties as a WOP with "Supr" skills?
Could he have been air crew even though he was "Not accepted" when he enlisted in 1940?

Thanks for the reminder, Ross. I am still trying to piece this together. It is very confusing sometimes. I have tried to hire a professional from the National Archives, but their services have been suspended temporarily due to Covid. Denis.
