An Allan Williams steel turret in situ, sited to defend the N end of Radlett airfield. Measuring some 6ft in diameter x 3ft high it is made of five-eighths inch steel. It has hatches in the top and side and steel rollers to turn the entire dome through 360 degrees. There is a gun bracket located immediately below the top hatch, probably for a Vickers or Bren gun in an anti-aircraft role.

ALLAN WILLIAMS TURRET (ID: S0006564), St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England
Hedges Farm, Napsbury - in a belt of trees 20 yards from the A414 road at the N end of the former Radlett aerodrome., Condition: Good (Grid ref: TL 1575 0479)
