New Zealand Artillery Regiments WW2

    Good morning

    I would like to know the artillery regiments that were formed by New Zealand in WW2, and if posible their batteries:

    I have got the followings:

    1st Field: 1, 2, 3 btys, (1st Infantry División)
    2nd Field: 4, 5, 6 btys (4th Infantry División)
    3rd Field: 9, 10, 11 btys (5th Infantry División)
    4th Field: 25, 26, 46 btys (2nd Infantry División)
    5th Field: 27, 28, 47 btys (2nd Infantry División)
    6th Field: 29, 30, 48 btys (2nd Infantry División)
    7th AT: 31, 32, 33, 34 btys (2nd Infantry División)
    8th Medium: 7, 8 btys
    9th Coast: 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 139, 163, 164 btys (Auckland)
    10th Coast: 70, 71, 72, 73, 77, 78, 140, 165 btys (Wellington)
    11th Coast: 80, 81, 84, 85, 134, 143 btys (Christchurch)
    12th Field: 12, 13, 14 btys (2nd Infantry División)
    13th Coast: 82, 141, 142 btys (Dunedin)
    14th Light AA: 41, 42, 43 bty (2nd Infantry División)
    15th Heavy AA: 65, 66, 67, 69 btys???? (Auckland): Possibly 11 heavy batteries
    16th Heavy AA: 74, 75, 76, 104 btys??? (Wellington): Possibly 6 heavy batteries
    17th Field: 12, 35, 37 (3rd Infantry División)
    18th Field: (5th Infantry División)
    19th Field: (5th Infantry División)
    20th Field: (1st Infantry División)
    22nd Light AA: (Auckland)
    23rd Light AA: (Wellington)
    27th Mixed AA Regiment???
    28th Heavy AA: 202, 203, 204 btys (3rd Infantry División)
    29th Light AA: 207, 208, 209, 214 btys (3rd Infantry División)
    32nd Training Regiment (Maadi Camp)
    33rd Heavy: 150, 151, 152 btys (3rd Infantry División)
    37th Field: Incomplete
    38th Field: 49, 50, 52 btys (3rd Infantry División)
    39th Composite Regiment???
    Christchurch: 83rd HAA bty
    Dunedin: One HAA bty
    Fanning Island: 45th Field Bty
    Norfolk Island: 215th Light AA bty
    39th Heavy Mortar Bty (2nd Infantry División)
    144th Independent Field Bty

    If you can get a copy of it, Peter Cooke's book Defending New Zealand has a comprehensive list of all New Zealand artillery units formed during the Second World War, including notes on their parent units and name changes, as there were quite a few. Its a pretty rare book (three volumes) as Peter self published it a while ago. Your list is very close to being complete though, good job! One suggestion I would make is to include 1 Survey Battery from 2 NZ Division.

    A relative of my wife's was also posted to the following artillery units in the Nelson/Christchurch areas between April 1942 and April 1944:
    24 Composite AA Regt
    36 Composite AA Regt
    91 Heavy AA Battery
    11 Heavy Regiment - probably 11 Coastal?
