Take a little time to think about your Title. The more relevant & descriptive, the more likely it is to attract the attention of those who have something to share. (Titles can always be edited later - easiest option is to ask a Moderator.)

n.b. Sometimes new members think they’ll get quicker results by repeating the same query under different sub-forums, eg Intros, Unit, POW, and Theatre, etc…. The membership here might be helpful but they can also get easily confused! ;) Posting the same request over again willl just get the same advice on multiple threads, sometimes from the very same but now frustrated people. (If you’ve done this already, Mods can either merge or close duplicate Threads.)

    • Via the Forum Front Page, select the sub-forum you think will attract the most views/help, eg War at Sea, War in The Air, Prisoners of War, Weapons…. Service Records, etc. (Don’t worry about selecting the wrong sub-forum - Moderators can easily move it later.)

    • On the top right-hand side of the screen, below the header, you should see: Post New Thread

    • Once you’ve clicked, something like this window should appear on your screen:

    • Add a Title and some Text explaining why you’re posting and then click on the Create Thread button below the text window on the left-hand side:

    • Once you have done this, your thread will appear under the Recent Posts or New Posts tabs … that is until other threads overtake it.

    • Not got any replies? Please be patient. If, after a day or so, no-one has responded, you can bump it back up by replying to the Thread yourself and asking for members to have another look. (Sometimes the nature of a query could mean that it takes months or longer for a reply, eg you're hoping someone who knew a relative gets in touch. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. But be sure either to check in regularly or to select Notification options which are best for you.)
Don't worry. This will all become second nature if you hang around long enough.

It's not obvious, but to edit the title of a thread:
