How many rounds of ammo could it carry, three?

Six or eight, depending on the size of the loader and gunner?

Nice field expedient display of winter camo. Can't help but to sympathize greatly with the infantrymen trudging along in the mud.

Saw this in "Normandy '44" by James Holland:

Then there was the matter of tank losses. Reg Spittles pointed out that the 2nd Northants Yeomanry lost thirty-seven tanks at Goodwood out of fifty-two in the battalion. Of the 185 men manning those tanks, however, only 25 were casualties, which suggests that most of the tanks that were knocked out of action did not brew up. In fact, the figure of 400 tanks for the day also needs re-addressing. detailed reports by the Military Operational Research Unit (MORU) examined all tank casualties and categorized them into those destroyed and burned; those badly damaged but repairable in rear-area workshops; and those repairable near the front but taking longer than 24 hours. Their findings confirmed that, although 493 tanks suffered some kind of damage, only 156 were written off. In all, only 136 tank crew were killed, although the infantry, which was supposed to be preserved, lost 3,432 killed wounded or missing
between 18 and 22 July in the GOODWOOD battle; 300 of those, however, were Canadians who found themselves entirely encircled and forced to surrender to 1. SS-Panzer-Division on 21 July.

The original report that gave the '500' GOODWOOD tank casualties made a mistake and double-counting inflated the total but the figure is central to the Uber-Panzer myth and it will be impossible eradicate the error.

Even the tanks written off at Goodwood would mostly have been put into pools and gradually cannibalised for their engines, gearboxes, final drives etc.

GM 6046 diesels. Two 6-71 6 cylinders paired together.

Used in the Sherman III and the M10. The Valentine and Archer used a single 6-71. The LCI(L) used two banks of four.

    Japanese Self-Defense Force Sherman.

I'm pretty sure the soldier behind the BAR man on the left side of the picture has a M1903A4 Springfield sniper rifle

I've been to several of their events, and almost consider that tank an old friend. Had to miss it last year due to work, though. They run this tank almost every year during their open house. Not as spry as it once was, perhaps, but who among us still is? ;)

Cool looking markings but it would probably attract the eye of enemy tankers or AT gunners a bit. I'd shoot at it first just because....

Funny how it instantly says 'Korea'.
One at Bov marked like that.
I realise I've never really looked into its origins.

Well....yeah the terrain does sort of look a bit Koreanish now that you mention it.

    They're absolutely Korea, Bobby.
ISTR something about Chinese Tiger symbolism, but memory dim.
