This account from 1 Canadian Corps HRQA files is written by two officers of the Italian Army attached to "GSL (CI)" (?) Eighth Army. In support of the Canadian operations in late September 1944 they accompanied a party of gunners who were to land by boat behind enemy lines in order to call in artillery targets. They only succeeded to the aid of a local farmer and his family, who the officers recommended for a medal. War diaries : T-15440 - Héritage
