    40th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.A. (T.A.)
    RHQ, 140th, 105th
Raised: 27 September 1939 at Inverness

The regiment was given its title on 17 October 1939. 177th Battery served under command from 10 November 1939 to 23 August 1941. In February 1941, the regiment served under 51st AA Brigade in North-East Scotland. 268th Battery was added on 4 September 1941. No change from there until the end of the war.

My Grandad was posted to 105 battery in April 1943 before this he was attached to them with the 51st Highland Division, he remained with them until Jan 1944, I am taking it that he served with them in North African campaign and then the landings in Sicily and then Italy, after this 51st went back to Uk, can anyone fill in any gaps
