Can anyone identify this war memorial. I found it online but no clue as to where it was photographed.
My interest is in James Proser Rowles whose name appears.
He was born in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada, James Prosser Rowles 1914-1945 WW2 Memorial.jpg so I am assuming it was erected not far from there.

Given the large proportion of men with an air force rank somewhere near an airfield or base might seem likely

    Hi,

James Prosser Rowles, RCAC born Okotoks AB, residing Calgary AB accidentally killed 25th May 1945 and interred in Nijmegen Cemetery, Holland. Crushed beneath a tank that overturned when the roadway gave way beneath its tracks.

The F H Carr listed is also a Okotoks man so I’d hazard a guess that it is a memorial in the Okotoks area - either municipal, church or school related - although I haven’t searched any of the other names. Carr died of injuries sustained in a flying accident in January 1943 whilst serving with 70 OTU in Kenya. He is buried there.

Owen beat me to it as I was also researching Okotoks memorials:)

Neither of us have wasted time searching for airfield connections though as per the ever helpful poster #2.

Your best bet might be to contact the Okotoks local history society via the email address in this link -

    Good Luck

Perhaps if you post the link to the online site where you found the image a member may be able to assist further depending what other information that site discloses.

Thank you everyone for your advice.
I contacted the local history society and they told me this was the 'old' Okotoks memorial.
It was replaced with this one.
