Not quite linked to this but to save starting another thread, I found out today that veteran Colin Ashford is still with us at 101. He was injured and brought back via Dunkirk, then was involved in camouflage in North Africa (fake ports, tanks etc). He’s an aviation artist of some note as well.
There was a French cross channel ferry called Cote d'Argent, which was involved in the evacuation, mainly landing troops at Folkstone. She is described as 'being under British control', but was seized by the Germans on a subsequent visit to Cherbourg
