I discovered this Kings College London War Studies PhD thesis whilst looking at French Indo-China in 1945 and it might be of interest here.

    The Abstract states:
Link to entire thesis (free): https://kclpure.kcl.ac.uk/portal/files/85935694/2011_Bollag_Manuel_0324247_ethesis.pdf

I have only skimmed a few pages.

I've dipped into this thesis before. There are some interesting accounts contained within, but the title shows you why (for me) it doesn't really work as a thesis: fifteen years, two different imperial powers, two very different conflicts--is there a substantial experience or pattern of experience to record?

    Charley,

Agreed, I found it via Google looking for information on a massacre in Saigon in 1945, glanced at the mention and moved on. Perhaps othsr will find gems they seek.
