Unfortunately this one seems to have gone quiet for the moment. I will continue to email the person who originally offered, plus I will attempt to find other contacts who may be able to help.

temptage I thought it would only take a few weeks......

Around that time was when Sierra Leone was hit by the Ebola epidemic so didnt pursue it any further, I thought they may have more important things to do at that time. I have also lost contact with my contact, fingers crossed he never succumbed to the disease, but I will give it a few months and then renew my quest.

Just come across this thread; realise it went quiet 4-5 years ago, but if anyone still wants the photos let me know - I'm currently in Freetown.

Thanks John. Its an offer I have to take up with. I never did get my, or anyone elses, photos from Freetown 5 years ago.

I have 3 buried in King Tom

    3. A. 9 - Baker, Cyril
    5. D. 2 - Scherzinger, Albert Leslie
    9. D. 9 - Hodson, William Alfred

High res as possible taken from directly in front please........

.........and I have one man named on the Freetown Memorial outside the Secretariate Building on George Street. It is NOT the Memorial in King Tom Cemetery

Details are very basic for this one. All he is named as is Private Fatoma. According to the CWGC database he is the ONLY one named Fatoma on there. If you could take high resolution photos of all the panels, as high resolution as possible please, and then if you can find his name, depending on where it is positioned (on the CWGC archives his name seems to have been added to the list at a later date) a photo with his name centrally positioned in amongst 5 or 7 names. If he is at the bottom of a panel, just a few names above his to be included.

If and when you can get the photos I would appreciate it if you could email me the original files, as if you add them on here they lose a lot of resolution and physical size too.

    Many thanks again John

    Hi John,

I collect the Headstone and Memorial photos of the 11,400+ Australians who died in the Air Force in 72 countries in WW2.

The two in Sierra Leone are some of a few that I need to complete my project.

Would appreciate a high resolution as well and one of the Cemetery itself and by email if possible.

    Hi Guys,

All noted; I'm heading over to the cemetery this week - please note I don't have a high res camera - Iphone camera is the best I can do!

I'll have the photos and be in touch Saturday at the latest.
