Just been on to my cousin and my auntie Mary says William was one of 6 kids
There was William, Thomas, Wilf, Isobel, Mary and George
That makes William my great uncle

    Craig.

I am out in Cassino in mid-March with 14 Signal Regiment as their guide. I will seek out Cpl Thomas Coates and point him out to the R SIGNALS soldiers.

If you ever want to go there for yourself and understand the circumstances of his death, do get in touch.

    Regards

    Frank

    Craig.

Cpl Coates’s name was read out during the 14 Sig Regt’s Act of Remembrance at Cassino CWGC cemetery and the troops placed a poppy on his grave afterwards.

    He was one of theirs.

    Regards

    Frank
