I picked up Pathfinder's in my local Tesco the other month in the bargain bin but still haven't watched it yet, looks like i won't be but maybe will have to just to see how bad it is.

Talking about bad films have you watched the awful "Ages of Heroes" directed and starred Sean Bean now that is one terrible film.

I totally agree with you about Age of Heroes, i was so looking forward to watching that but was totally dissapointed by the lack of effort that went into it....even little things like the MP40's firing with no recoil or no spent cases getting ejected from them. Also Danny Dyer seems to play the same sort of violent football hooligan character he plays in all his other films. How long is it going to be before we get another war movie of 'Saving Private Ryan' quality?

Speaking of which, has anybody seen 'Brotherhood'? It's a Korean film with subtitles set during the Korean war. I loved it, and the special effects are on par with SPR, the story following the two brothers is also really good. Best war film i've seen for a while. Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) - IMDb

Passchendaele is also a good one (WW1 Movie with that Canadian mounty bloke from 'Due South') Passchendaele (2008) - IMDb

It shouldn't be much longer now for Dambusters to be released.

I've just watched Pathfinders - £3 from Tesco. It's not the worse film I've seen - try Passchendaele. That's really bad! That said, I doubt that I'll be watching it again.

I thought Passchendaele was brilliant compared to Pathfinders although a bit slushy in places!

However, I think we agree that neither are worth the £3 paid!

Must agree with your thoughts but the worst one I have seen must be the Fallen advertised as the best war movie since Private Ryan. That one fell straight in the bin. One Film I have just seen Two Men Went War I did enjoy it or is it my sense of humour.

I think we need more stories about events that aren't as well known as others. D-Day for example is covered over and over again. I would quite like to see movies and tv series about not so well known events. I think a series set in the Korean War or the Burma Theatre would be great. I can't remember the name of one particular movie but it was about North African Soldiers fighting with the Free French, it was something new and untold, hence it was interesting.
