I saw a WWII movie on TV a couple of years ago that I'd like to watch again. The scene I remember is a young SS officer having breakfast in a cafe with a young French women who owned a movie theater. He was trying to be suave and romantic with her. She was trying be appear aloof but was absolutely terrified of him. He made a great show of putting whipped cream on his pastry and eating tiny pieces of it with a knife and fork. Very scary scene. That's all I remember. It was probably made in the past ten years or so. Anyone know it?
I don't think that is it, although it might be. I just read the IMDB entry for it. Thanks for the suggestion though. I think the theater owner might have been in trouble for showing a movie the Nazis didn't approve of, but again, not sure.
Yes, that's it. Thank you. I must have come across the cafe scene out of context on TV because I tried to watch Inglorious Bastards from the beginning when it was released and thought it was horrible and only watched the first half hour or so. OK, so I don't have to look for that one. Shosanna Dreyfus (alias Emmanuelle Mimieux) is one of the main protagonists of the film. She is the owner of Le Gamaar Cinema.
